One of the roughest parts of poker is variance – especially when it’s not on your side! Sometimes both your pocket aces and pocket kings get cracked in the same session, which may leave you wishing for a way to soften the bad luck. This is a big reason why Carbon Poker offers the Deal It Twice feature, among the many other Carbon features you can take advantage of through our download page.
With the Deal It Twice option, two players who are all-in can have the turn and river cards dealt two times instead of just one. So even if somebody hit a runner-runner straight to beat your kings the first time, the chances of you losing this hand twice in a row are very small. Looking at things from another perspective, let’s say that a player has eight outs to hit their flush; in this instance, running the hand twice would give the person a much better chance to take at least half of the pot.
Of course, before a hand can be run twice, both players still in the hand need to agree on this. Assuming one of the players isn’t on board, the turn and river will only be dealt once. If a player has no intention of ever dealing a hand twice, they can always just disable the Deal It Twice function.
Some things to keep in mind with Deal It Twice include the following:
- Deal It Twice is only available when exactly two players have pushed all-in.
- No matter whether two players go all-in preflop or postflop, only the turn and river are dealt twice when the option is used.
- This feature can only be used in NL Texas Holdem cash games.
- Even in NL Holdem cash games, Deal It Twice is not offered at all of the stakes. So you’ll have to go through Carbon Poker’s lobby to find what tables offer the Deal It Twice feature if you’re interested.
